The shotgun “Captain’s Choice” scramble began at 10:00 a.m. The golfers were provided complimentary beverages and snacks by DRASH throughout the course.
Team Cobham and Ozzie’s Hackers both shot a gross score of 60, but Cobham won on a tiebreaker by birdieing the highest handicap hole on the course. Mike Barbero, Brian Glackin, John Caulfield and Mike Delaney made up the winning foursome.
Len Gratteri won the longest drive competition for the men and Roxanne Globis was the longest female driver.
A buffet lunch sponsored by Sikorsky and MPSC and a raffle took place after the golf, which included several autographed items by the Washington Redskins donated by DRS Technologies.
Retired Maj. Gen. Gus L. Hargett, the NGAUS president, thanked the golfers for their support. “We couldn’t have done this without you,” said Hargett.
The tournament will return to Laurel Hill next year at a date yet to be determined.
