Auzie B. Wofford enlisted in the United States Navy in July 1942, immediately upon graduation from high school at Ozark, Arkansas. He served as a Boatswain’s Mate 2nd Class in the South Pacific Theater during World War II, returning home to Arkansas upon his discharge in November 1945. He enlisted in the Arkansas National Guard in September 1952, serving in a variety of leadership and staff positions, culminating with his assignment as Battalion Command Sergeant Major. CSM Auzie B. Wofford retired from the Arkansas Army National Guard July 1983.
